In the season finale of History Unloaded, Danny and I turn the lens forward and share an inside look at what’s coming next in our professional worlds. It’s a rare chance for us to talk not only about the history we study, but the history we’re actively shaping through upcoming exhibitions, major museum projects, and long-term research initiatives.
I outline several new museum projects I’m currently responsible for, ranging from new museums in Manitoba and Nevada to exhibitions at museums, including the LA Police Museum’s upcoming Gangster Squad gallery.
Danny shares updates on his collaborative temporary exhibition for the nation’s 250th anniversary; a major initiative at the Cody Firearms Museum that examines how arms innovation, military service, and civilian culture shaped the American Revolution. He also discusses his ongoing project to catalog all previous CFM temporary exhibitions.
Together, we reflect on why forward-looking work matters in a field rooted in the past. We intend to launch the next season in the spring 2026
